15:30 Music, architecture & the city.
with Christoph Lieben-Seutter (General and Artistic Director, the Elbphilharmonie) & Jesper Larsson (CEO Malmö Live Concert Hall) Hosted by: Martin Thörnkvist
Around the world cities are investing in cathedrals for music and art. Artists get spaces designed to amplify their art with grand galleries and magical acoustics. Cities make themselves more attractive to visit and to live in. Everybody wins. Don’t they?
In this conversation we want to investigate what happens after these injection are in place. How can new institutions play a role in the wider development of cities? And how can local businesses work with the arts in meaningful ways to benefit both culture and business? And eventually how can the appetite for culture in general grow bigger in places like Hamburg and Malmö thru the joint effort of the arts, businesses and city developers.
